Lesson #5: Jim Dine Hearts

Introduction: Jim Dine is a great Pop Artist.  One of his favorite subjects is the heart because it reminds him of his wife.

Activity option #1: Create an artwork in the  style of Jim Dine using layering and texture. This is shown in the video below. 

Materials Needed:  Paper, Oil Pastels/Crayons/Markers, Scissors, and Glue. 

Activity option #2: Create a mixed media artwork in the style of Jim Dine using repetition and texture. This is shown in the video below. 

Materials Needed:  Paper and Oil Pastels Paper, Oil Pastels/Crayons/Markers, Scissors, Acrylic Paint. 

The artist in activity #2 uses acrylic paint. If that is something that you try, remember to cover your work area, protect your clothes, and rinse out your brushes right away.
